Since this is the first of a 2-parter, let’s dive into Step 2: Segment Names with a common example: Your friend makes an introduction for you, and now, you have a meet-and-greet on the calendar.
So, what do you do?
👉Ask yourself before the networking meet-and-greet: Is this person a potential customer (someone I’m hoping to sell TO) or is this person a potential referral partner (someone I’m hoping to sell THROUGH)?
Because, those are 2 very different conversations with 2 very different goals.
This is why you have to segment.
Otherwise, you could be meeting with the right person, but having the wrong conversation.
